Optimist International Essay Contest

The Optimist International Essay Contest takes place between January and May. The official topic for 2022-23 is "Who is an Everyday Hero That Brings Out The Optimism In You." Download the entry form.

​Optimist International has partnered with St. Louis University to expand the Oratorical Contest in 2021. District winners will compete on an international stage where they have the opportunity to win up to $22,000 in scholarship money.

                     2020-2021 Pacific Central District Results: There were five contestants representing three zones (3, 8 & 13). Zone 3 
                      was the only zone that held a contest (5 participants). First place was awarded to Eden Getahun sponsored by                                      Sacramento Breakfast ($2,500). Second place was awarded to Michelle Qiao sponsored by San Jose ($1,500) Third                              place was awarded to Rohan Middle sponsored by Cupertino De Anza ($1,000) Eden will move forward to the regional                          level for a chance at an additional $5,000 scholarship.
